This table runner was made my our very own Nydia.  She used fabrics left over from a friend's wedding to make them a commemorative table runner!  Genius right!?  The idea is from one of our new favorite books "Scandinavian Stitches"

PROMISE QUILT

Carol brought in this promise quilt and we love, love, love it!  She left it for us to admire (and blog about), and now we're all wondering...so what exactly is a promise quilt?

Block Pary Fashion Show

The Hip Strip Block Party is coming up September 12th!  We always have such a goooood time.  It is a great neighborhood party benefiting the Missoula Food Bank.  We have a fabulous Fashion Show and this year we want to feature YOU, our talented customers!  This year's theme is WoMensWear. We are looking for 5 designers to showcase their looks for fall in the show.

Here are the challenge rules:
*You and your model should be available Sept 12th at 6pm
*Fashions should be a Fall 2010 look, inspired by Menswear ....be creative, not literal!
*Fabric should come from Selvedge Studio
*Designers will supply their own models
*Send us a photo by September 6th to leah@selvedgestudio.com

This classic Japanese embroidery technique called "Sashiko" is now a ONE-HOUR workshop at Selvedge! Now-a-days, we can use a SEWING MACHINE to give this same embroidery effect!
