Carol brought in this promise quilt and we love, love, love it!  She left it for us to admire (and blog about), and now we're all wondering...so what exactly is a promise quilt?

Well!  The sewing bug has bitten.  It has been a busy day here at Selvedge!  Here is what the masses are sewing:

baby quilts, baby quilts, baby quilts, aprons, bags, pillow cases, coasters, quilted place mats, and scarves - phew!!  Don't tell them I told you, if you happen to get a gift of this sort for the holidays - hee hee.

I made this for a friend's first birthday.  It is a cute (and cheap) outfit from Pass It On, a second hand kid's shop around the corner. Lovingly embellished with scraps of fabric and my handy dandy free motion foot.  Hopefully her mom doesn't see this post before I drop it off :) (The tights are from Blackbird)
